Two people, answering honestly, on their own.

The whole method is that you never see each other’s answers until you are both finished. Everything else follows from that.

Step by step

  1. Set up: the occasion, who is going, and anywhere already in mind. Three taps, no account needed.
  2. Take the quiz: ten questions, on your own phone or laptop. You can stop at ten, and your shape still forms.
  3. Send your partner a link. They see your name and nothing you answered, and add anywhere they have in mind.
  4. Your partner answers the same ten on their own device, so you never see each other's answers.
  5. See both shapes together, where you overlap, and which of the eight couple types you are. Adjust yours if it is a little off.
  6. Two screens for this trip: what to avoid and what you really want, then when, how long and who is coming. What you fly from and spend is remembered from last time.
  7. See the three places chosen for you, then open the one you like.

The shape

Eight things, and where you overlap.

Each of you answers ten questions. Every answer moves one of eight lines — how full the days are, how much open space, how much comfort, how much of the scene, how much is new to you, how much is planned, how much the food matters, and how deep in it you want to be. The same eight, every time, for both of you.

The two outlines are each of you alone. The filled shape in the middle is where you agree, and it is the only part we design against. Where the outlines diverge is not a problem to fix — it is where one of you gets a day the other sits out.

It does not score you. There is no better end of any line, no compatibility number, and no percentage. A number would imply a precision none of this has.

  • Each of you answers ten questions, apart, on your own phone or laptop.
  • Neither of you sees the other’s answers until you have both finished.
  • No account is needed, and it takes under twenty minutes each.
  • Your answers draw a shape on eight lines, and the two shapes are laid over each other.
  • Where the shapes overlap is what we design for, and it names which of the eight couple types you are.
  • You get three places, each with the hotel, the room, the days and what it costs.

How the app works

  • Your chapter comes with a companion app that carries today’s plan, stop by stop.
  • The route is saved on the phone, so it works where there is no signal.
  • Every booking sits in one place, with the confirmation attached.
  • Mira, the app’s AI concierge, re-times a table, asks another restaurant or cancels a plan when the day changes, and only with a yes from one of you.

How the journal works

  • Each of you keeps your own pages, and neither sees the other’s during the trip.
  • For each place it asks one question: would you go back?
